Job Advertisement: Teaching Assistant (1:1 SEN Support) Location: Yeovil Position: Full-Time, Temporary Start Date: After Easter 2025 Duration: Until the end of the school year We are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant with experience in supporting SEN (Special Educational Needs) pupils on a 1:1 basis for a full-time, temporary role in Yeovil. The role will begin after the Easter break and run until the end of the current school year. Key Responsibilities: Provide dedicated 1:1 support to primary school pupils with special educational needs. Assist with the delivery of lessons, helping students engage with classroom activities and tasks. Support the creation and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and personalised learning strategies. Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment. Collaborate with class teachers and other educational staff to monitor progress and adapt support where necessary. About You: Previous experience working 1:1 with SEN pupils in a primary school setting. A solid understanding of various special educational needs and strategies to support pupils with these needs. A caring and patient approach to supporting children’s individual learning journeys. Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with teachers, parents, and other school staff. Proactive and adaptable, with a positive attitude toward challenges. Essential Requirements: Experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, specifically with 1:1 SEN support. A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or SEN (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification). An enhanced DBS check (we can assist with this if needed).
