(Sessional) GCSE Computer Science Tutor
College location: East Surrey College (Redhill) and John Ruskin College (Selsdon)
Salary: £34.07/hour (£28.49/hour + £5.58/hour as payment for annual leave)
Hours: Various hours available across Monday to Friday, 8:45-17:00
We are currently seeking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic Computer Science Tutor to join our friendly and hard-working team.
In this rewarding post you will be delivering teaching on our GCSE classes, though the role may involve teaching 16-18’s in future academic years.
Working closely with the Director of Learning and the rest of the team, you will have the chance to share your knowledge and skills with students to help them achieve at the highest level as well as driving continuous improvement within the College. In particular, you will have a strong focus on delivering innovative and student-led learning.
You will also be responsible for acting as a personal tutor, promoting and tracking attendance, participating in team meetings, and contributing to the planning, development, and review activities within your subject area.
The successful candidate must have:
1. A full teaching qualification
2. Able to deliver FS and GCSE
3. A minimum of an A Level in Sciences (though a Degree qualification would be strongly desired)
4. Recent GCSE & Functional Skills teaching experience (ideally within an FE environment)
5. Experience teaching both adult students and 16-18 year olds
