You will be working at Thornford Park a service that provides medium and low secure service for men and women, in addition to having two Psychiatric Intensive Care Units (PICU’s). Reporting to the Lead Psychologist, you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of delivering strategic and clinical strategies to grow and further develop the care pathway through specialist psychological advice and consultations
You will have experience and knowledge in carrying a designated caseload, including assessing service users with complex needs, and designing and delivering specialist psychological treatment withinsecure/PICU services.

As a Principal Clinical/Forensic Psychologist you will be:
1. Deputising for the Lead Psychologist in their absence
2. Taking a key role in service development
3. Line Management of specified team members
4. Providing robust clinical supervision and support in appraisals and in the professional development of the team
5. Providing evidence based psychological assessment
6. Provision of 1:1 and group interventions to patients to address a range of needs
7. Contributing to MDT care planning and review
8. Contributing to professional development within the team
9. Contributing to audit and research as directed by the line manager
10. Engaging in CPD
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
11. BPS accredited and HCPC approved Doctorate.
12. HCPC Registered.
13. Eligible for Chartered Membership of the BPS
14. Post-doctoral level knowledge and application of research methodology, research design and complex, multivariate data analysis.
Where you will be working:
You will work at Thornford Park which is a combination of medium secure and low secure units, rehabilitation flats, and PICU services. The service provides a seamless internal care pathway supporting and empowering patients in their recovery and rehabilitation.
You will work alongside the multidisciplinary to provide personalised assessment and treatment programmes for males/females with mental illness/ complex care needs as well as those with personality disorder. Service users may have histories of offending and/or may have failed in previous placements.
