The Role Is
The Operations Data Analyst will be involved within a variety of tasks leveraging both their technical data analytics experience and knowledge within banking and/or economic crime areas. From creating insights to monitoring & reporting, the Operations Data Analyst will provide crucial business intelligence to key stakeholders as well as supporting colleagues & peers across the bank.
This Data Analyst job will provide a variety of tasks, as well as strong opportunities to learn & progress within a crucial function to both the everyday operations and future success of the bank.
Key Accountabilities Include
1. Monitoring and Reporting:
* Develop, build, and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor economic crime controls, highlighting potential risks or areas of concern.
* Generate regular and ad-hoc reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
* Collaborate with risk management teams to assess vulnerabilities in systems, processes, or transactions.
* Contribute data-driven recommendations to strengthen anti-economic crime controls.
1. Data Analysis and Insights:
* Analysis of data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies related to economic crime activities, such as fraud, money laundering, and other financial crimes.
* Produce actionable insights to inform risk assessments, investigations, and decision-making processes.
2. Data Quality Management:
* Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency in all analyses and reports.
* Identify and resolve data quality issues, collaborating with relevant teams to improve data sources and processes.
3. Regulatory Compliance:
* Ensure all analyses and reporting meet relevant regulatory requirements and standards, such as anti-money laundering (AML) regulations.
You'll Need To Have
* Established experience within a Data Analytics role.
* Experience within proactively seeking out and creating new data-set insights that help support the direction of strategic decisions.
* Natural curiosity to develop new trains of thought and create new data signals. Driven to understand why things happen.
* Strong Analytical skills & attention to detail.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience of using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
* Experience within banking sector and/or in Economic Crime.
* Experience using PowerBI to develop reports.
* Proven ability to decipher and report on large volumes of data.
