Are you a governance specialist looking for your next challenge? Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity are hiring for a Deputy Company Secretary to join the Corporate Services Team in championing exceptional standards of governance and compliance across the Charity.
Salary
The salary for this position is £54,081 per annum and we operate a hybrid working policy of a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensuring the Charity complies with its governing documents, charity law, company law and other relevant legislation or regulations.
* Promoting a culture of good governance across the Charity.
* Reviewing corporate policies and procedures.
* Supporting the development of best practice against the Charity Governance Code.
* Providing expert advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on matters relating to the Charity’ s governing documents, charity law, company law and other relevant legislation and regulation.
* The onboarding and offboarding of all Trustees and Committee members.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Substantial experience in the governance function of a charity or other comparable organization.
* Extensive experience of providing support to governance meetings and taking minutes.
* Extensive experience of providing advice on a range of governance and compliance matters to trustees, Senior Leadership and colleagues.
* Suitable knowledge of Charity Commission requirements and working knowledge of the Charities Act and Companies Act.
* Suitable knowledge of the relevant data legislation including the Data Protection Act, General Data Protection Regulations and Privacy & Electronic Communications Regulations.
* High accuracy and attention to detail.
* Confident in dealing with complex situations and communicating (written and verbal) succinctly to a range of different audiences.
