Who You Are The Special Guardianship and Connected Carer Assessment Team is seeking an experienced social worker who is committed and dedicated to supporting children and young people to remain within the care of their birth family and network where possible. You should have a good knowledge and understanding of the relevant legislation and guidance that underpins social work practice and assessments. What the Job Involves The role involves completing viability assessments, full connected carer assessments, and special guardianship assessments in partnership with children social work teams and the fostering service. You will be working closely with these teams and the Special Guardianship Post Order Support Team. Responsibilities include offering support, advice, and guidance to social work teams, completing regulation 24 assessments, being the named coordinator for connected carer and special guardianship assessments, formulating SGO support plans, and leading cases to the fostering panel for positive connected carer assessments. The team focuses on undertaking robust, analytical and evidence-based assessments to support children and young people to remain with their birth family.
