About The Role
Position Overview:
The Managing Director will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, operations and financial performance of the MVNO. This leadership role requires a candidate with a strong background in telecom, mobile services, and operational management. The successful candidate will have the expertise to navigate the challenges of a high-growth company and work cross-functionally to position the organisation for success.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
1. Lead the company’s growth strategy, focusing on expanding market share, improving profitability, and driving innovation.
2. Develop and execute long-term business plans, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision, mission, and values.
3. Set and achieve financial and operational goals, focusing on scalability, cost-efficiency, and profitability.
4. Lead market expansion efforts, including identifying new markets, segments, and partnerships that align with growth objectives.
Operational Management:
1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the MVNO, ensuring high levels of efficiency, performance, and customer satisfaction.
2. Lead teams in customer service, network operations, product development, marketing, and sales to achieve company targets.
3. Optimise business processes and systems to scale operations, improve operational efficiency, and minimise risks.
4. Maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and external partners across all areas.
Financial and Performance Management:
1. Develop and manage the company’s budget, ensuring sound financial controls and maximising the return on investment.
2. Analyse financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures where necessary.
3. Establish KPIs and metrics to monitor company performance, drive accountability, and continuously improve results.
Team Leadership & Development:
1. Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
2. Mentor senior leadership team members, providing guidance on decision-making, strategic initiatives, and professional development.
3. Attract, retain, and develop talent across all functions, creating an environment where employees can thrive and grow.
About You
Key Requirements:
1. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in the telecommunications or mobile services industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Experience in the MVNO space is highly preferred.
2. Proven Leadership: Strong track record of leading high-growth organisations, driving change, and navigating complex market environments.
3. Financial Acumen: Expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management, with a keen ability to drive cost efficiencies and profitability.
4. Sales & Marketing: Previous sales and marketing experience essential especially in digital marketing and third party partnership programs.
5. Strategic Thinking: Ability to think long-term and develop strategic plans that align with the company’s vision while maintaining flexibility to adapt to changing market dynamics.
6. Team Building: Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing teams, cultivating a culture of accountability, innovation, and customer-centricity.
7. Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the telecommunications industry, mobile technology trends, regulatory requirements, and competitive landscape.
8. Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal teams, external partners, and investors.
