Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Red Hat Linux Engineer to join our team. This role involves providing round-the-clock onsite support to ensure the stability, security, and performance of our Linux-based systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment. Applicants must be UK sole nationals due to the nature of the work and security requirements. Candidates must also demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Red Hat Linux systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
* Perform system installations, configurations, and upgrades, adhering to best practices.
* Respond promptly to incidents, resolving issues within defined SLAs.
* Implement and manage system security measures, including patch management and vulnerability assessments.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure projects and deployments.
* Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine tasks and improve system efficiency.
* Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
* Participate in a rotating shift schedule of 2 days, 2 nights, followed by 4 days off to provide 24x7 support, including weekends and holidays.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Linux Engineer, with expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
* Red Hat certifications (e.g., RHCSA, RHCE) are highly desirable.
* Strong knowledge of Linux system administration, networking, and security.
* Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
* Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet).
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
* Must be a UK sole national.
* Must be willing to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges.
Preferred Skills:
* Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM).
* Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
* Understanding of ITIL processes and incident management.
