A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SALES MANAGER AT THE WESTIN LONDON CITY What you'll be doing Reporting to the Director of Sales, you can expect your working day to include the following. Creating sales strategy for account penetration across Corporate and Groups segments. Working with the Director of Sales to ensure understanding of sales strategy and effective implementation and execution of the Corporate and Groups strategy. Developing contracts and correspondence, managing opportunity details and proactively developing customer solutions. Building and strengthening relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings. Participating in local travel to represent hotel & residences at trade shows, sales missions, conferences etc. Analysing the pipeline / business on the books, identifying need periods and adapt price point and/or added-value to maximise conversion. Ensuring a clear understanding of the overall market - competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them. Keeping abreast of the market trends and competitor set seasonal offerings. Working collaboratively with off-property sales channels to ensure sales efforts are coordinated, complementary and not duplicative. Proactively communicating with key stakeholder groups (Commercial Director, Director of Sales, Head of Revenue Management and Head of Finance. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU We hire mostly on personality & potential but here are a few of our requirements To succeed in the role of Sales Manager, you will need the following qualities and skills: Communication & interpersonal skills: high standard of written and verbal English is essential with the ability to build long lasting relationships with clients and suppliers. As well as the ability to build strong relationships with leaders, peers and associates in the hotel and wider Marriott network. Strong understanding of Corporate and sales, efficient problem-solving skills and ability to find solutions. Ability to create clear and persuasive presentations and reports. Strong organisational abilities to manage multiple projects and prioritise tasks under deadlines. Client-oriented approach to build positive, lasting relationships Excellent time management to handle the fast-paced, multitasking nature of the role. In-depth understanding of key sales segments – Corporate and Groups Adaptability in managing unexpected requests or changes with professionalism. Confidence in handling contractual agreements. Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
