We have an exciting opportunity to joinour Theatre team at Sancta Maria Hospital.The post holder will liaise with the Sterile Services providerlogistically to manage the provision of equipment in theatre under the guidanceof the Senior HSSU Co-ordinator.
The post holder will managerepairs/replacement of surgical items with the Sterile Services Provider.
This post is full time, fixed term maternity cover position
Main duties of the job
The Theatre Admin & HSSUCo-ordinator will organize loan of specialist equipment. The post holder will carry out administrativeduties on behalf of the theatre department. The post holder will organise purchase ordernumbers, reconciliate invoices and contribute to maintaining departmentalspreadsheets related to finance.

Job responsibilities
Communication
Communicate with the Sterile servicesprovider; equipment requirements in theatre, repair and other logisticalinformation.
Liaise with Theatre Management,Consultant, Anesthetists and the Stores department to plan equipmentrequirements in theatre.
Communicate logistical plans surroundingSterile Services and Equipment loans with the theatre team.
Liaise with the Team Leader asappropriate to ensure seamless episodes of care and to identify and communicateany issues or potential problems as early as possible.
Liaise and communicate with otherdepartments as necessary Ward, Radiology, Inpatient Bookings
Liaise and communicate with externalservices as necessary Laboratory Services, Sterile Services.
Establish clear communication withpatients, their families and care givers, using interpersonal skills to invokeempathy and reassurance regarding, assessment, care and treatment.
To ensure accurate and comprehensivenursing / theatre records, in all formats, are maintained using appropriatedocumentation.

Predictequipment requirements in theatre and plan fulfilment of requirements
Trackand follow-up repairs and replacements of equipment that is processed throughSterile Services as necessary.
Checkand maintain stock levels within the department, communicating effectively withstores department and using establish processes for procurement of stock andequipment.
Keepup to date with local and national peri-operative initiatives.
Comply with implementation of guidelines ( NICE, AfPP)where appropriate, in line with Quality Governance.

Carryout safety checks of swabs, instruments and needles in conjunction with a qualifiedperson and immediately acting on any discrepancies.
Actas a circulating member of the Theatre team for a variety of specialities andcomplexity of cases, including Endoscopy.
Participatein Theatre equipment is checks to ensure it is suitable for use prior to eachpatients operation
Assistingwith other members of the team in the preparation and clearing of Theatres.
Assistin the safe handling, transfer and positioning of patients between all areas ofthe theatre department
Assistingwith the labelling and dispatch of the theatre specimens.
Work within the remit of HMT and local Policy and Procedures.
