We are looking for a Brewery Engineer to maintain our state-of-the-art brewery equipment, ensuring everything is fully operational as we continue on our journey making Beautiful Beer. The Role As brewery engineer, you will work in all areas of the brewery (the production area) and will report directly to the Brewery Operations Director. You are expected to maintain all brewery equipment to the highest standard, and solve day-to-day problems with equipment. You will also work on projects to improve brewery operations to be more innovative, sustainable, safe and efficient. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Ensure the smooth operation of brewing and packaging machinery, reducing downtime and optimising performance across the department Troubleshoot, identify, and repair mechanical faults, with timely remedial actions to prevent unplanned breakdowns and maintain production continuity Execute modifications and installations of new machinery and equipment in collaboration with brewery management and manufacturers Commission and onboarding of new brewery equipment with Wiper and True and external partners Write and maintain a preventative maintenance plan for all brewery-related equipment Create and manage a spare parts system to enable the fastest and safest repairs Plan and carry out annual brewery shutdowns for full maintenance Conduct daily and scheduled checks on key equipment, including forklifts, stackers, air compressors, CO₂ tanks, and more Maintain health and safety protocols including equipment inspections, chemical safety showers, ladder checks, etc Adhere to and champion health and safety standards, ensuring all equipment operates within required safety guidelines to protect staff and assets Keep all tools and repair equipment organised, clean, and in top condition Report and explain fixes to the production team, and help prevent machine downtime wherever possible Record and report any equipment downtime on a weekly basis for the team scorecard Train staff in basic equipment repairs and fault finding Maintain up-to-date departmental records such as maintenance logs and equipment documentation for compliance and audit purposes Ensure compliance with HSE, SALSA and other relevant regulations and quality standards Uphold hygiene and cleanliness standards across all engineering tasks Attend team meetings, and required training courses About You Confidence and ability to work autonomously A continuous improvement mindset, with a proactive approach to problem solving Previous experience in planned maintenance techniques and Computerised Maintenance Management systems, Ability to work well in a team, working together to problem solve and get the job done Excellent timekeeping skills and reliability A calm and professional approach to work and problem solving Great attention to detail, organised, and an efficient approach to prioritising and planning Flexible and comfortable with changes to planned works and schedule Passionate about beer, beer quality, and brewery machines Enjoy being part of a hard-working team Valid UK driving licence as you will be required to drive between all our sites and will need to carry large equipment, parts and tools as part of this. Experience/Skills Previous experience in operating and maintaining brewery equipment is essential Although not essential, a valid forklift driver's licence is an advantage Although not essential, welding qualifications are an advantage Although not essential, previous experience working on electrical equipment is an advantage Although not essential, trade qualifications like NVQ Level 3 or HNC in Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar are an advantage Work Environment The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud a lot of the time Temperatures may vary seasonally in work areas You will be supplied with personal protective equipment and workwear as necessary Why come and work for us?
