Overview of role: Here at Little Scallywags - we are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice looking to complete their level 3 with a hands on attitude and a passion for children to join our small & friendly team. As a key part of the team you will be responsible for supporting the education and development of your key children through quality of teaching and learning. We implement in the moment planning providing exciting opportunities and expand on the children's interests during play to give them that all important teaching moment Key details: Hours: Monday to Friday (8am to 5.30pm) Shifts TBC between these hours. 40 hours per week. Term Time Only (39 weeks per year) Wage: £6.40 per hour. This will be increasing to £7.55 in April 2025. Location: 68 Station Rd, Marston Green, Birmingham B37 7BA Apprenticeship details: Qualification: Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship Standard Duration of course: 19 months Training Provider: LMP Education (Rated BEST UK provider) All learning delivered online/ remotely alongside role. Please note all candidates are required to have a Level 2 qualification as an Early Years practitioner to be eligible for this apprenticeship. Full Duties and Responsibilities: As an Apprentice Nursery Practitioner, it is an important part of your role to strive to maintain the standard of early years care and education throughout the setting, especially within your base room. You are required to: Implement policies and guidelines. Prepare and present your base room’s displays, ensuring they stimulate vocal and receptive responses. Be responsible for the care, welfare, health, safety, and security of children within the nursery. Assist with the physical care of children within the nursery. Assist with the care and maintenance of furniture, toys, equipment, and resources. Monitor stock levels of consumables and convey information to the manager. Undertake the administration of First Aid, insofar as competence allows. Leave the nursery ready for the following session, ensuring plans are ready to be implemented and resources are available. Undertake cleaning duties as and when required. Act as a link person to individual children and their families. Observe children and plan suitable activities, ensuring their personal, physical, social, spiritual, emotional, cultural, and moral needs are adequately addressed. Implement planned activities and evaluate them for individual children. Support and work with other staff as part of a team. Implement daily routines. Keep records, such as accidents/incidents, incoming injuries, medication, observations, EYFS assessments, and evaluations. Report to parents daily, both verbally and through weekly diary sheets. Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in the nursery Plan and implement age-appropriate activities to support children's development Monitor and observe children to ensure their well-being and safety Collaborate with other nursery staff to foster a positive learning environment Maintain accurate records of children's progress and development Communicate effectively with parents about their child's daily activities and progress Skills & Personal Qualities: Enthusiastic, and have a genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
