Provides facilities mechanical engineering analysis and oversight in support of system deliveries, decommissions and modifications. Be responsible for regular analysis of mechanical systems to include cooling balancing and air quality to help ensure the integrity of the entire mechanical system.PLEASE NOTE: •To be eligible for this role, you must have the right to work in the UK. •Employment is subject to the ability to obtain and maintain a DV – STRAP level security clearance •You must be in possession of a valid passport or be willing to apply for a passport as a condition of employment. •Employment and Right to Work checks are conducted by our partnered supplier HireRight • Leverage expertise in HVAC systems to design effective solutions for facility projects. • Demonstrate initiative by identifying project needs and proposing design solutions. • Proactive approach and ability to work independently, anticipate project needs, and act to resolve issues promptly. • Perform regular monitoring and inspection of equipment to provide schemes for preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure uninterrupted client operation and asset integrity is maintained. • Design of ventilation systems from basic principles and review of room data sheets. • Calculating required air change rates and airflow rates to enable duct sizing, including pressure loss calculations for fan duties. • Develop HVAC Fire and Control Philosophy. • Production of HVAC system design deliverables, specifying heat rejection plant including air / water cooled condensers, heat pumps and heat recovery systems of varying types. • Production of system schematics / Engineering Flow Diagrams (EFDs) • Ensure that deficiencies are identified, recorded and escalated • Perform work in accordance with established processes and procedures. • Comply with all internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety and fire protection. • Respond to routine and on-demand work requests. • Provide observations about facility mechanical conditions and deficiencies. Provide recommendations for improvements and repair. • Perform other duties as assigned. • Mentor junior staff, graduates and apprentices.Other Job Requirements: • Flexible team player with an ability to operate with minimum supervision. • Computer literate including Microsoft programs. • Demonstrate experience of working to high quality standards. • Good attention to detail. • Can perform risk assessments with a high level of health & safety awareness. • Position is a Monday through Friday dayshift position. Preferred Qualifications: • Typically, an accredited degree or global equivalent in engineering or HNC. • Relevant industry qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ). • Experience with building management systems (BMS). • F-Gas certification. • Good working knowledge and experience-based understanding of industry specific programs and systems.Experience of corrective and preventative maintenance on industrial chillers, computer room air conditioning units and air handlers. • Experience of data centre and office space cooling and fire suppression. • Use of industry standard software such as Hevacomp, Open Buildings, Autocad 2D/3D, Revit and Pipenet. • Experience in the delivery of written work, eg. Functional Specifications, Basis of Design, Equipment Specifications and Validation and Verification plans. • Experience in delivering in Building Services design. • Knowledge and experience of working to UK regulations and ASHRAE standards. • Identify, record, and resolve deficiencies on client assets. • Respond to routine and on-demand work requests. • Provide recommendations for improvements and repairs.
