Health & Safety Advisor - field based.
I'm representing a growing industry leader in environmental monitoring solutions. They specialise in installing and maintaining monitoring equipment in challenging environments, such as sewer networks. With business expansion, they are strengthening the Health & Safety team, to ensure the highest standards of compliance and safety across operations. I'm seeking a proactive Health & Safety Advisor to support teams in maintaining a strong safety culture across the business. This role will focus heavily on 'on-site visibility,' conducting audits and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company policies. The successful candidate will also play a key role in supporting continuation of ISO accreditations (45001, 9001, and 14001) and other industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct site audits and inspections across UK-wide operations to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
2. Provide on-site support and guidance to site teams, promoting a strong safety culture.
3. Assist in the development, review, and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures.
4. Support the ISO 45001, 9001, and 14001 accreditations and help maintain compliance with other relevant industry standards.
5. Support investigations incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending improvements.
6. Deliver toolbox talks, training, and briefings to employees and contractors.
7. Ensure compliance with relevant HSE regulations, risk assessments, and method statements.
8. Assist in preparing safety reports and statistics for senior management.
9. Keep up to date with legislative changes and best practices in health and safety.
Key requirements:
1. Formal health and safety qualification (NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent).
2. Experience conducting site audits and inspections in a construction, utilities, or engineering environment.
3. Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
4. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel frequently across the UK.
5. Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with staff at all levels.
6. Proactive, hands-on approach with a passion for improving workplace safety.
Desirable:
1. Experience working with ISO 45001, 9001, and 14001 accreditation requirements.
2. Membership of a professional body (e.g., IOSH).
3. Experience in environmental monitoring, utilities, or confined space work.
