The project has started construction and is now seeking private investment. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050. We have a fantastic opportunity for a Planning Coordinator at Sizewell C to join an exciting project. Are you a good communicator with exceptional stakeholder management skills? Do you have previous planning co-ordination experience, and understand the legal and regulatory requirements for projects? If so, this could be the role for you The Planning Coordinator is responsible for providing key support to the Sizewell C Planning Team in the delivery of obligations set out in the (DCO) Consent and Deed of Obligation. The role will help to develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders, the packaging and delivery of key electronic submissions and also maintaining the required controls for managing documents in company systems and trackers. What you’ll be doing Your responsibilities will include: Working with and supporting a team of planning specialists responsible for the compliance with the governance requirements of the DCO and provide any additional consents necessary for the construction programme. Supporting the delivery of the planning strategy required for the Project. Supporting on any material or non-material changes required to the existing Development Consent Order and delivering the strategy and approvals to secure these changes. Developing and maintaining the exceptional relationships required with the Local Authorities at Officer level to effectively discharge all planning Requirements under the DCO. Supporting the engagement with all key stakeholders and decision makers on planning matters for the SZC project. Supporting the required governance arrangements for the DCO including the Governance Groups and processes specified in the SZC Deed of Obligation. Coordinating all planning work in line with the specified budgets and feeding into the monthly financial reporting process with forecast spend against each budget line item to inform accruals. Helping to arrange regular visits to the construction site for the relevant Officers from the Local Authorities. Anticipate, manage and resolve issues within the work area, including process, programme, risk, budget and priorities. Ensure schedules are developed and maintained for all work undertaken and record keeping is in line with project requirements. To ensure compliance and appropriate reporting with the relevant commitments and controls, ensuring the relevant teams understand what is required of them. Supporting on ad hoc activities necessary to support the DCO or wider Project teams from time to time. Manage the relevant work scope and drive the delivery of activities to ensure they are delivered safely on time, to budget, meeting business & technical requirements and standards. Monitor and manage the progress of the programme across all team members and their consultants within the work area. Who you are A qualification in a relevant discipline (such as town planning or environmental ), with demonstrable technical knowledge and experience of the legal and regulatory requirements for projects, at all stages of the planning process. You will have recent experience working in a major infrastructure project roles. You will demonstrate strong organisational skills. You will understand the need for quality and how quality is assured and controlled. You will possess good presentation, influencing and facilitation skills. Excellent communication and organisational skills, the ability to develop relationships and maintain effective networks both internally and externally is essential.
