Our ever expanding generator business is looking for an experienced Electrical Generator Engineer to join our South West team based in the Exeter area. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Engineer with an eye for delivering high quality service to join an agile team at an exciting time of growth.
Responsibilities:
Reporting into the South West Service Manager the Generator Engineer will provide maintenance, installation, diagnosis, repair and testing services across a range of diesel generator sets, switchgear, control systems and associated equipment. Our support is carried out at clients premises or Pharos sites. Key tasks include:
1. Carrying diagnostic, testing and remedial works on generators, switchgear and associated equipment, and support PPM where required to include Load banking.
2. Electrical fault finding and repair
3. Generator upgrades, including but not limited to Control panels
4. Providing call-out cover for generator breakdowns on a rota system
5. Carrying out client site visits and generating accurate and timely reports
6. Projecting spares requirements for upcoming and planned works
7. Team technical development, training and mentoring
8. Supporting operational tasks i.e: reporting, quotations, progress reports, customer enquiries etc
9. Out of hours working
10. On call service
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
1. Minimum 5 years experience in the generator industry with a minimum of 2 years experience in standby power
2. Proficient in the installation and operation of DSE/Comap
3. Qualified electrical engineer i.e: NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND in Electronic / Electrical
4. Qualified to 18th Edition Electrical Regulations
5. 2391/2 Inspect and Test
6. Switchgear experience/qualification would be highly desirable
7. Skilled in technical report writing with acute attention to detail
8. A good network within the Generator field would be advantageous
9. Full UK driving licence
