Job Summary
Head of Operations is a permanent position, you will be expected to work full-time hours of 37.5 per week (5 days a week, 7.5 hours per day). This is a Hybrid role, working from home with the expectation of National Travel.

Main Duties
1. Oversee NUPAS resource and capacity to ensure an accessible, patient-focused service at all times.
2. In conjunction with the regional managers and regional clinical leads, regularly reviewing staffing needs and skill mix requirements to deliver excellent care.
3. Oversee and act as line manager for all NUPAS Regional Managers.
4. Continuously analyse data to identify operational, reporting and quality issues.
5. Oversee NUPAS Counselling service.
6. Effectively contribute to the strategic direction and operational success of NUPAS by being a member of the Senior Leadership Team to focus on strategic planning, decision-making, resource allocation, and fostering a positive and productive work environment.
7. Support the organisation to achieve ISO9001 certification.
8. Work with the Regional Leadership Team, contributing to the strategic development of the organisation by identifying and implementing improvements for patients, employees, and other stakeholders.
9. Be a key player in the identification of new opportunities that will increase the profile of NUPAS as one of the leading abortion providers.
10. Work with the Regional Leadership Team, within their own geographical areas by building on existing and new relationships with key stakeholders such as GPs and other Healthcare organisations.
11. Support the Regional Leadership Team in the delivery of a safe and quality driven service to all patients in accordance with the requirements of the Abortion Act, Care Quality Commission Regulatory Standards, other relevant legislation, NUPAS strategy and NUPAS policies, procedures and guidelines.
12. Lead the Emergency Prevention, Preparedness and Response Working Group in line with NUPAS Business Continuity plan.
Business and Financial Management
1. Promote contractual cost effectiveness by ensuring that all services operate in an efficient and safe manner at all times.
2. Work collaboratively to identify realistic and achievable plans within all services.
3. Adhere to all company HR policies and procedures and ensure compliance with employment legislation and regulation at all times.
4. Develop an environment where all staff are constantly seeking to make service improvements and to deliver against the agreed patient activity and financial targets.
5. Work with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure that policies, procedures and processes are in place to provide assurance to the board ensuring there is statutory and regulatory compliance at all times.
6. Ensure predictive operational management is in place, to anticipate and to manage both opportunities and problems in service delivery.
7. Assist in the identification of potential new premises for service delivery and to complete and support submission of applications for the licensing of new clinical units in conjunction with the Regional Managers.
8. Develop and monitor achievement of local and strategic targets and implement remedial action as necessary.

11. Ensure full compliance with the Abortion Act 1967.
12. Ensure full compliance with NUPAS's Fit and Proper Persons Policy in relation to the Care Quality Commission's regulatory standard.
Person Specification
Experience
Essential
* Significant line management experience.
* Experience of working in a Healthcare environment in a senior strategic position.
* Experience of Business and Financial Management.
* Experience of Quality Management Systems, to support the organisation to achieve ISO9001 certification.
* Experience of working well with others including senior leaders.
Qualifications

* Degree level qualification or equivalent comparable experience.
