We are seeking a dedicated Cook to join our caring team at a well-established nursing home near Alfreton. You will play a vital role in preparing nutritious, delicious, and well-presented meals for our residents, catering to various dietary needs and preferences. This is a day shift role (30 hours per week). Key Responsibilities: Prepare and cook fresh, high-quality meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Accommodate special dietary requirements, including allergies, texture-modified diets, and cultural preferences. Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen in line with food safety regulations. Plan menus in collaboration with the care team to ensure balanced and appealing meals. Manage stock levels and assist with ordering supplies. Requirements: Proven experience as a cook, ideally in a care home, hospital, or similar setting. Knowledge of dietary needs for the elderly, including pureed and soft food diets. Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain). Strong communication skills and a caring, team-oriented attitude. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends. In return for meeting the above criteria, you will be rewarded hourly rate of £12.50, plus overtime, company pension scheme and onsite parking.
