We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative leader to join our Cancer Division at Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells as Lead Programme Manager. The successful candidate must be a motivated professional with a track record of consistently delivering high quality patient focused care.
This role will work closely with the Clinical Directors and Head of Nursing to deliver the departments’ operational, strategic & quality agenda.
The Kent Oncology Centre provides comprehensive cancer services for the 1.8 million population of Kent, Medway and East Sussex and this role includes management of staff based at Canterbury as well as MTW.

Main duties of the job
This role will be responsible for leading system improvement and change projects and their deliverables within MTW and Programme manage the strategic component of the new Cancer Waiting Times Standards, capital projects including charitable funding, risk and safety across the Division, and linking in with the system and local community re. improving cancer outcomes.
The post holder will be responsible for the effective coordination of all necessary workstreams within the organisation and their interdependencies, the identification of risks and issues and their effective management to ensure that the project timelines and objectives are met.
The post holder will be expected to work with a high degree of professional confidence and autonomy and be proactive in the delivery of projects and act as an ambassador and role model for MTW
Individual is expected to work across sites on a regular basis.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Qualified to Master’s degree level or equivalent skills, knowledge or experience in Healthcare or service improvement and change facilitation.
2. QSIR Practitioner or equivalent.
3. Track record of continuous professional and management development
Desirable criteria
4. Additional professional qualification of evidence of continued professional development
Experience
Essential criteria
5. Managerial experience Programme or project management experience within the NHS, or similar organisation, at either a senior level in system or clinical service level.with a proven track record of success in business case development
6. Track record of large scale inter- connected project deployments
7. Substantial experience in a senior management role exposed to clinical systems.
8. Experience of facilitating change
9. Experience of producing narrative material, statistical reports and presentations.
10. Substantial experience of working in change and improvement.
11. Experience of working with multidisciplinary teams
Desirable criteria
12. A comprehensive knowledge of NHS system procedures and information flows.
13. Experience of process redesign, system re- engineering and capacity / demand modelling post master’s qualification.
14. Experience of organising and successfully delivering project workshops.
15. Must have a good working knowledge of the functions of clinical systems
16. Must have a good knowledge of interoperability and integration in a system
