DEPOT MANAGER
Fantastic Opportunity for a Manager with Commercial Vehicle Retail Service Experience to join a company in the West Midlands.
Location: Wednesbury - West Midlands
Salary: Up to £70K OTE - £55,000 - £60,000 basic plus £10,000 Bonus (OTE of £65 - £70K)
Hours: Monday - Friday
My client, a Commercial vehicle repairer and main dealer with different sites, is looking for an ambitious and dedicated Depot Manager / Service Manager / Dealer Principal / Service Workshop Manager / Operations Manager / Depot Service Manager / Aftersales Manager to join their site in Wednesbury - West Midlands.
A Depot Manager / Service Manager with previous experience of running a main dealer commercial vehicle depot is desirable, someone who has managed a large, busy site.
The Depot Manager / Service Manager / Dealer Principal / Workshop Manager / Operations Manager / Depot Service Manager / Aftersales Manager will have a strong desire to take a depot to the next level. The Candidate does not need to have qualifications in Commercial vehicle repairs but it would be an advantage.
The ideal manager has previous experience of managing a depot with 20 plus technicians, is a strong people manager who is open to make the depot their own, bringing in new processes etc.
They will have previous experience of managing a WIP and also managed a retail depot before.
The role:
1. Planning the daily workload of the workshop, office & drivers to ensure customer requirements are met and update schedules
2. Liaising with customers regarding service schedules, updates, authorities and completion of work
3. Managing the Service Department WIP / Work in Progress
4. Managing the Workshop Technicians, Service Advisors, Administrators as well as Parts departments
5. Ensuring all staff are doing the jobs correctly and assisting if the need arises
6. Raising of job cards, estimates & invoices as required and update status of jobs on the system in an accurate and timely fashion
7. Ensuring that parts are available for the job at the correct time
8. Processing purchase orders accurately
9. Maintaining discipline in the whole site
10. Monitoring job times on the system for each fitter against each job worked on
11. Ensuring that the site is tidy, housekeeping standards are maintained and site is secure
12. Ensuring that all equipment is maintained in a proper fashion
13. Ensuring all Health & Safety arrangements are in place
14. Promoting Health and Safety within the depot
15. Attending management meetings
16. Reporting on the KPI’s for the depot
17. Undertake any reasonable duty specified by the Company Directors.
This is a hands-on and busy Manager role and will require someone who is able to ensure the depot is running smoothly and efficiently.
Requirements for the Depot Manager / Service Manager / Aftersales Manager:
1. NVQ or Equivalent qualifications in Heavy Vehicle maintenance and repair is an advantage
2. Proven ability of managing either a depot or a busy service department
3. Main Dealer experience is essential, either from Service department or running a depot
4. Experience of running over 20 Commercial Technicians plus aftersales staff.
