Primary accounting responsibilities include, the management of daily accounting (customer order entry, vendor expense management), month-end close process (P&L, balance sheet reconciliations & CF), annual budget/quarterly forecasting preparation (in collaboration with operators), treasury management (receipts, disbursements and related weekly forecasting) and (e) external audit and tax preparation and filings, including VAT.
The UK Finance Manager will be responsible for participation in and management of all accounting functions, including acting as a partner to support the business operators. Primary accounting responsibilities include, but are not limited to, (a) the management of daily accounting (customer order entry, vendor expense management), (b) month-end close process (P&L, balance sheet reconciliations & CF), (c) annual budget/quarterly forecasting preparation (in collaboration with operators), (d) treasury management (receipts, disbursements and related weekly forecasting) and (e) external audit and tax preparation and filings, including VAT.
The position will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (US), as well as have financial support responsibilities to the Managing Director, EMEA (London). The position will directly supervise the Management Accountant and Credit Controller.
This position will be the primarily liaison with the external auditors and lead the local external audit(s). The Finance Manager will be part of the global Accounting team who create and implement consistent policies and procedures to identify and resolve accounting and related internal control matters. In addition to creating procedures to make the close and reporting processes more efficient and accurate, this role will be expected to leverage technology tools in place, as well as identify new ways to further streamline business processes in a collaborative way. This role will be involved in potential new business launches, as well as acquisition diligence and related integration.
Responsibilities :
* Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly and annual financial statements of the UK subsidiary, including working/collaborating with operators and global counterparts, including the US Corporate Controller, US and APAC Accounting Directors and Financial Planning & Analysis, Director to prepare budget to actual variance analysis.
* Supervise UK Accounting team to ensure that month-end close process, including reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts, is adhered to in a timely fashion, which allows for sufficient review time
* Review all month-end balance sheet analysis to ensure completeness and accuracy
* Prepare and review all month-end outside commission calculations and payment requirements to confirm accuracy
* Oversee the activities of the Order Entry ("OE") function, including order review, approval and processing, invoicing and related adjustments, etc., ensuring the timely and accurate processing of orders in compliance with GAAP/IAS and other accounting rules & regulations.
* Oversee the activities of the Credit and Collections ("C&C") function, including cash receipts, ensuring the timely processing of cash applications, billing adjustments, credit card processing and application, and credit review, etc. Review AR aging's and supervise the Credit controller to ensure productivity and assist in customer collection matters.
* Oversee the activities of the Vendor disbursement's function, including vendor invoice entry, disbursement planning and execution. Ensuring timely communication with both internal and external constituents to ensure everyone is aligned. Review AP subledger and supervise the Management Accounting in related function.
* In collaboration with Managing Director, EMEA, US FP&A Director and other business leaders, establish efficient financial processes around budgeting, forecasting, and tracking operational metrics and key performance indicators for the UK related business segment
* Analyze performance and make fact-based recommendations to improve profitability/ROI, operating efficiency and effectiveness. Ability to identify critical issues and trends and communicate them effectively.
* Collaborate with the Accounting team members of non-UK subsidiary, to ensure the consistent global financial disciplines are adhered to.
* Work with the US Rev Ops Manager to assist in pulling Netsuite CRM related data/reports to help support the Rev Ops function for the sales business leaders.
* Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective internal control processes to improve the close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
* Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company's value.
* Lead year-end external audit process for all UK subsidiaries.
* Oversee country, state and local tax matters, ensuring compliance with tax laws and timely preparation of all related tax filings. Work with external tax advisors, to ensure the Company is compliant.
* Play a key role to identify where Netsuite/Adaptive can create efficiencies through process improvements and leveraging technology.
* Work with Business Leaders on new launch pro forma analyses and diligence and integration for UK acquisition targets
* Leadership and people-management, including staffing and performance management.
* Other Ad-hoc reporting and analysis to help support the UK business operating units.
Education :
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred (or related equivalent)
Professional Experience:
Five to seven years in an Accounting/Finance function (Finance, Accounting/Reporting, Financial Modeling, Business Analysis, Operational Finance) with a company that includes multi-segments. A minimum of two years' experience leading an accounting team.
* Experience working with a company in the media, events and/or information services, strongly preferred
* Experience in public accounting, preferred
* Experience working with a US parent company, preferred

* Strong financial modeling and business analysis experience. Ability to design reports which present information in a concise manner for use by top management in decision making.
* Experience with and ability to analyze large amounts of data, summarizing key results and findings
* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products; advanced knowledge of Excel (Macros, Pivot Tables etc.).
* Strong communication skills with all levels of the organization. Ability to effectively interact and work collaboratively with business leaders.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
