Job Summary
We are excited to announce a vacancy for a dedicated and experienced Phlebotomist to join our busy but friendly team. Our phlebotomy team plays a crucial role by providing essential services to both outpatients and in-patient wards. The post is based at Hinchingbrooke Hospital but you may occasionally be required to work at other Trust sites in Peterborough or Stamford.

Main duties of the job
As a Phlebotomist, you will interact with patients, explain procedures, and provide reassurance. Your primary duty is to collect blood samples via venepuncture, ensuring correct patient identification and sample labeling. Timely delivery to the laboratory is essential, with strict deadlines to meet.
You will also be involved in collating patient statistics, conducting audits, and participating in patient surveys to maintain high standards of care and support service improvements.

Education & Qualifications
* Desirable: GCSE in English and Maths or Science
Knowledge & Experience
* Essential: Understanding of the role and responsibilities
* Desirable: Knowledge of Pathology IT systems, NHS experience, basic computer skills including MS Office
Key Skills
* Willingness to train further
* Good communication skills
* Interpersonal skills, ability to work independently or in a team
* Ability to prioritize and concentrate for prolonged periods
* Desirable: Phlebotomy experience
