What you'll do:
* Ensure Compliance & Implementation – Oversee the effective implementation of Quality, Environmental, Occupational Safety, PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification), FSC(Forest Stewardship Council), and Energy Management Systems within the organization.
* Quality Control & Process Monitoring – Conduct quality inspections at every stage of production, ensuring compliance with established procedures and standards while keeping accurate records.
* Raw Material & Product Testing – Supervise and conduct tests on raw materials, chemicals, and packaging materials, verifying compliance with specifications and maintaining detailed documentation.
* Audit & Continuous Improvement – Participate in internal audits, assist external audits, and identify areas for process improvement to enhance quality system performance.. Assist with the optimisation of production processes whilst reducing waste and increasing efficiency.
* Supervision & Team Coordination – Manage and guide laboratory staff, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of quality control tests.
* Equipment & Calibration Oversight – Ensure all quality-related equipment and devices are properly calibrated and maintained according to set schedules.
* Customer Complaint Management – Analyse and investigate process quality-related customer complaints, providing feedback and solutions to prevent recurrence.
* Reporting & Communication – Track and report daily production data, process non-conformities, oversee overtime records, and communicate findings to relevant departments and prepare daily/monthly quality reports.
* Design and implementation – Assist with the design and implementation of quality measures, standards and corrective actions.
What you'll bring:
* Degree qualified in Chemical Engineering or Equivalent.
* Minimum 2 years of experience in the paper industry or a similar field.
* Strong understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 standards.
* Knowledge of FSC, PEFC, and environmental risk management procedures.
* Experience in quality control processes, paper production, and laboratory testing procedures.
* Familiarity with Quality Management Software and other Quality Management Systems.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proficient in Microsoft office packages.
