An exciting opportunity has arisen within Blood Sciences, for a suitably qualified Senior Biomedical Scientist (Quality and Training Supervisor). We are looking for a Senior BMS with experience in Biochemistry, in particular Quality and Training, to join our team. The preference is for someone who has a very good understanding of Biochemistry, but all Blood Sciences specialities will be considered.
We are seeking applications from well-motivated, enthusiastic individuals for the post of Quality and Training Supervisor (Band 7) to join our Biochemistry Department.
The successful candidate will join an excellent team providing an efficient and effective Quality and Training service to 2 busy district general hospitals. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated with good interpersonal, leadership and organisational skills and ideally have experience of leading a section of the laboratory.
You should possess excellent communication and time management skills and have a systematic and flexible approach to work. They must be committed to quality and improvement and can demonstrate IT knowledge to enable them to drive the department forward.
Responsibilities include:
1. Supervising compliance to relevant statutory regulatory standards to meet accreditation requirements.
2. Maintaining the quality monitoring system to audit compliance of the Pathology Quality Management System.
3. Facilitating the development of assigned staff group through the various levels of training pertinent to their role.
4. Supporting and promoting quality improvement.
This is a full-time post working 37.5 hours per week. A flexible attitude to working hours is essential, with hours currently within a framework of 08.00–20.00 including weekend & Bank Holiday working. These arrangements are subject to continuing review.
Both hospitals offer a pleasant working environment and are well served by several bus routes and mainline stations nearby.
