About the role:
To carry out administrative and search-room duties to support the Archives Manager to provide a dynamic and progressive archive service to residents, community groups and visitors, and to assist in providing an efficient and effective records and information management service to Powys County Council departments. To work collaboratively with colleagues across Cultural Services and to participate in providing an integrated approach to service improvements and developments
About you:
* Experience of working with the public
* Good general education – 5GCSE’s, A-C or equivalent
* Attention to detail: ability to work in an organised, careful and meticulous manner
* Able to respect confidentiality with regards to records
* Full valid driving licence
* Must be physical fit as the role is quite demanding and use to working at heights, using ladders.
What you will do:
1. To provide assistance to users of the archives service in an efficient and customer friendly way, and to supervise the public search-room ensuring high standards of customer care
2. To respond to enquiries (information management) and file retrieval requests from client departments whether in person, by telephone or by electronic means, in an accurate, timely and appropriate manner.
