About the role: To carry out administrative and search-room duties to support the Archives Manager to provide a dynamic and progressive archive service to residents, community groups and visitors, and to assist in providing an efficient and effective records and information management service to Powys County Council departments. What you will do: To provide assistance to users of the archives service in an efficient and customer friendly way, and to supervise the public search-room ensuring high standards of customer care To respond to enquiries (information management) and file retrieval requests from client departments whether in person, by telephone or by electronic means, in an accurate, timely and appropriate manner. To answer enquiries about the holdings of the Archives, giving advice and information to users and answering queries on common research topics, in person, by post, telephone and email. To assist with the digitisation of material in response to requests from researchers. To assist with the destruction programme to ensure records reaching their retention period are disposed of in accordance with adopted retention schedules and recognised effective working practices.
