Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated IT Support professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong customer service orientation and be adept at troubleshooting various operating systems and software issues. This role involves providing technical assistance to users, ensuring smooth operation of IT services, and maintaining the integrity of our network infrastructure.
Responsibilities
* Provide first-line support for hardware and software issues, including desktop support for Windows, Mac OS, and Linux environments.
* Assist users with software troubleshooting and resolve issues related to operating systems.
* Manage help desk tickets using Remedy or similar ticketing systems to track and resolve user requests efficiently.
* Maintain local area network (LAN) connectivity and assist with firewall management to ensure network security.
* Conduct routine maintenance on IT equipment and perform upgrades as necessary.
* Document all support interactions and maintain an organised record of issues resolved.
* Collaborate with other IT team members to enhance service delivery and improve overall user experience.
Experience
* Proven experience in an IT support role, preferably in a help desk environment.
* Strong understanding of desktop support principles, including hardware troubleshooting and software installation.
* Familiarity with LAN configurations and firewall management is highly desirable.
* Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
* Experience with Linux and Mac OS is advantageous but not essential.
