Quality Manager – North Yorkshire
Join a Leading International Food Manufacturer
Our client, a renowned international food manufacturer, is currently seeking a skilled Quality Manager to lead their North Yorkshire site. This role is vital in ensuring the ongoing development, management, and implementation of quality and regulatory systems while fostering a strong food/feed safety culture. You'll have the opportunity to guide a talented team of quality professionals, driving continuous improvement in all processes and systems.
Role Overview
In this role, you will have daily responsibility for overseeing and ensuring compliance with all Safety and Quality regulations, standards, and practices. Key responsibilities include:
Compliance Management: Maintain and uphold factory standards, ensuring all safety and quality regulations are followed.
Audit Leadership: Manage the internal audit systems and lead customer audits and visits, including corrective action follow-ups.
Team Leadership: Inspire and motivate a small team of quality professionals to deliver excellence in all areas.
Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in the development and implementation of policies to drive quality and regulatory standards forward.
Problem Solving: Adopt a pragmatic approach to addressing challenges and implementing effective solutions.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will bring:
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry) or equivalent experience.
Proven experience in quality management, including team leadership, within the food, animal feed, or drinks industry.
Strong customer focus with a commitment to achieving results.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage both individual and team tasks effectively.
A solid understanding of global food safety standards.
A pragmatic problem-solving approach to ensure issues are resolved swiftly and efficiently.
Computer literacy with familiarity in common software packages.
Experience with Continuous Improvement (CI) tools is advantageous.
This role is based at a single site but may involve occasional travel.
