Job Introduction
Treasury is central to the BBC's management of key financial risks and the provision of appropriate liquidity and banking services in a complex range of areas and geographies.
Group Treasury is responsible for all operational activity relating to Treasury across the BBC Group, including our commercial entities.
This Finance Specialist role will be responsible for looking after the Treasury Team and is offered on a 4 month fixed-term contract basis. The role can be based in London or Cardiff with regular travel and some flexibility i.e. hybrid working.
Main Responsibilities
As Finance Specialist for Treasury & Payments, reporting to the Finance Manager, you will have overall responsibility for:
1. the BBC's group wide daily cash management processes in all currencies
2. managing BBC inter-company loan positions and ensuring cash is managed efficiently
3. investment management in relation to cash surpluses held
4. monitoring and managing BBC counterparty credit risk
5. arranging drawdown of debt facilities where required
6. assisting in identifying and managing foreign exchange exposures across the group
7. managing the banks account management processes across the group
8. managing treasury systems on an ongoing basis and assisting with any developments and new implementations
9. working with banks on the fulfilment of BBC treasury operational needs and requirements
10. responding to business treasury operational needs, including reporting
11. managing audit requests and requirements
Are you the right candidate?
To be successful in this role you will need:
1. Significant experience in Treasury Operations in large organisations
2. Relevant ACT cash management qualification or an accounting qualification
3. Thorough understanding of cash and risk management in large organisations
4. Understanding of treasury systems management and operation, including system implementations ideally. Experience with Kyriba would be highly advantageous
5. Able to work well under pressure and prioritise tasks and manage stakeholder expectations

Location: Office base can be London or Cardiff with some regular travel between these two sites. This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will balance office working with home working
Salary: anticipated range c.£55,000 pa (plus London Weighting £5,319pa (if London based), depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
