The Role of the Shift Mechanical Technician
•Reporting directly to the Team Leader/Section Engineer, the Mechanical Technician is required to support the Engineering department.
•You must be an effective communicator who can participate actively as a member of a team or work reliably and unsupervised individually.
•Whilst always working to the highest standards of health and safety you will deliver and follow routine planned maintenance schedules, responding to breakdowns and comprehensively reporting, (electronically), on all the tasks you undertake
•Your role will be to effectively maintain all process and auxiliary equipment with an aim to improving up time while reducing costs.
•Within these roles, you will also provide practical and technical support within their areaof expertise by performing necessary breakdown repairs, leading preventative maintenance activity and facilitating the promotion of plant and process improvements.
Requirements of the Shift Mechanical Technician
•Educated to a minimum C&G level 3 in a mechanically biased technical or engineering based discipline and / or successfully completed a recognised Mechanical Apprenticeship
•Understanding of how to carry out proactive and reactive maintenance in a heavy industrial environment including the use of mechanical equipment and specialist tools.
•Hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge (understand and follow schematic drawings) with welding and pipefitting experience also preferred.
•Ability to read and understand technical drawings
•Understanding of the skills and controls required to undertake Working at Height, Work in Confined Spaces, Lifting and Slinging.
