Manage up to 5 significant Human Factors projects in areas like Operations, Technology, and Airspace. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards, balancing resource constraints and customer needs. Collaborate with external technical peers (e.g., ATC, Tech Safety, Validation) under the guidance of the Head of Human Factors Design and Assurance and supported by relevant HF programme leads. Provide scientific, technical and analytical expertise. Other Duties Include:
* Build and maintain relationships with programme customers and stakeholders, acting as the focal point for communication.
* Collaborate with technical peers to enhance delivery efficiency and effectiveness.
* Ensure SAP accurately reflects customer requests for all project work.
* Scope, plan, implement, and report on complex technical tasks with minimal guidance, coordinating with team members.
* Identify conflicts and escalate concerns to the relevant task or programme manager.
* Complete tasks within agreed timescales, ensuring quality and customer satisfaction.
* Conduct or review scientific, technical, or data analysis, draw technical conclusions, and contribute to customer deliverables.
* Champion the HF team internally and externally, building an extended network.
BSc/MSc in Human Factors or related discipline (Psychology, Biomechanics, etc.), or equivalent work experience.
* Significant experience in Human Factors, particularly in safety-critical industries.
* Registered member of a recognised Human Factors institute (e.g., CIEHF, British Psychology Society) or equivalent experience.
* Proven ability to work autonomously and influence change within mixed-discipline teams.
* Proven ability to lead projects and deliver solutions to demanding timescales and customer satisfaction.
* Demonstrable commercial acumen and experience with internal and external customers.
* Comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty, quickly assimilating unfamiliar information and providing sound advice aligned with Human Factors regulations and processes.
* Applied knowledge in data analysis and data interpretation.
* Excellent time management, planning, organisational, and facilitation skills.
* Strong networking skills, quickly establishing key contacts and using them effectively.
* Effective communication skills, both written and oral, with middle to senior management.
* Good interpersonal, influencing, and persuading skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to formulate and develop documentation quickly and present it clearly to management, adapting communication style as required.
