Job responsibilities Your role with us An exciting opportunity has come up within the Neuropsychaitry Division for a qualified Social Worker. You would be joining a high achieving and committed social work team within an inpatient hospital setting Our Neuropsychiatry services are all based in Northampton at either our central 140 acre campus, or in the surrounding community.With over 460 Neuropsychiatry specialist staff we deliver truly tailored care to adults with complex, acquired or progressive neurological conditions, alongside their co-morbid physical needs and mental health disorders.We manage physical healthcare and the most complex neuropsychiatric needs from our central campus. With a serviceofmore than200 beds, from medium secure through to community-supported transitional living, we can tailor the environment and therapy to each patients' needs.Our model of care focuses on meeting the complex, highly specialised needs of patients and takes forward our strategy to deliver progressive, world-class and holistic care. Patients benefit from tailored therapies and interventions, delivered by the most extensive neurobehavioural inter-disciplinary team.As a Social Worker you will be able to gain experience across all our specialisms, develop a deeper understanding of complex mental health needs and have access to further training such as RAID and a comprehensive ASYE programme. You will work in partnership with our multi-disciplinary teams (including Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Nursing and other Allied Health Professions) to provide holistic individualised treatment plans, and work directly with our patients on their recovery journey. Taking the lead with carer engagement and involvement ensuring that families are part of the team. You will become an expert in mental health legislation and practice, giving evidence at Tribunals and taking the lead on safeguarding. You will have a recognised Social Work Qualification and ideally experience of working in Mental Health and Mental Capacity Legislation; as well as Safeguarding Adults Legislation and practice, to include the undertaking of safeguarding investigations.St Andrews Healthcare Social Workers must be registered with Social Work England and there will be opportunities for training to ensure registration. In addition, there will be regular clinical supervision, an annual performance review and opportunities for development to stay up to date with the latest research, trends and best practices in psychiatric social work.
