Senior Quantity Surveyor - The Role:
A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the regional commercial team based between home, office, and site visits in the Gloucester/Bristol areas. You will be responsible for leading the day-to-day commercial aspects of new build projects valued at £9 million. This position will report to a Commercial Manager. Future projects could include residential, care homes, or commercial education.
Typical duties & responsibilities:
* Ensure optimum commercial return is achieved for the project.
* Prepare cost/value reconciliation reports accurately.
* Prepare and agree interim valuations at agreed dates to gain the best commercial advantage for the company.
* Agree final accounts with subcontractors to maximize project margins.
* Ensure subcontract orders are prepared in accordance with company procedures and contract programs.
* Maintain control of subcontractor accounts and minimize costs of any variations.
* Manage subcontracts in terms of valuation and correspondence.
* Carry out duties as Quantity Surveyor on projects as instructed.
* Prepare or assist with cost/value reconciliation reports on a monthly basis.
* Prepare turnover cash flow forecasts as directed by the line manager at the commencement of all projects.
Senior Quantity Surveyor - The Person:
* Solid experience with either a national or regional main contractor.
* Reside within the Bristol and Gloucester areas.
* Demonstrable experience of delivering commercial aspects of new build projects within budget and program.
* Experience in main contracting is essential.
* Experience managing a £7m project or larger as QS.
* Experience in both residential and commercial sectors is beneficial.
* Innovative - ability to identify better ways of doing things.
