Job summary To provide a co-ordinated, highly effective training service for the pharmacy department and other areas within the Trust. To develop & co-ordinate a strategic approach to all training activities within the pharmacy department. To contribute to education and training services and developments affecting pharmacy staff in the South & West region. Delivery of a highly specialised clinical pharmacy service to promote the safe, rational and cost-effective use of medicines, through personal practice and the training of other staff. Main duties of the job To be responsible for co-ordination and development of ongoing rotational programme for junior pharmacists. To act as lead mentor for pharmacists studying for postgraduate certificate or diploma. To train, mentor and assess pre-registration trainee pharmacists General Pharmaceutical Council requirements. To liaise with education and training leads from other professions within the Trust and to deliver or delegate training in areas such as therapeutics for non-pharmacy staff.
