Pay: £12.21 to £13.50 (dependent on experience)

Heart Dental has an exciting position for a Dental Receptionist. You will be the first person the patient sees upon entering the practice. The main purpose of the job is to provide a friendly and efficient front-of-house service to patients and visitors, book appointments, and support the organization of the diaries and lab orders.

Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Answering the phone in a polite and timely manner
2. Booking and changing appointments both in-person and over the phone
3. Ensuring patients are booked in upon arrival and the clinicians are made aware
4. Dealing with incoming enquiries from patients, in person, over the phone, or via email
5. Sending communications to patients using their chosen method
6. Taking payments and cashing up
7. Receiving orders from suppliers as appropriate to your job role and notifying the appropriate person
8. Managing the laboratory orders within the practice, ensuring orders are sent to lab, tracked, and checked off
9. General administration such as scanning or photocopying
10. Ensuring patient records are kept up to date and stored securely
11. Being the first point of call for any complaints, being confident in the procedure and directing to the complaints manager as required
Qualities:
1. Good, friendly telephone manner
2. Knowledge of diaries and appointment systems; preferably experience of a Practice Management System
3. Work systematically and communicate with team members effectively
4. Versatile communication and patience to deal with difficult issues
5. Ability to manage phone systems, email correspondence, and face-to-face queries
6. Following instructions and processes under the guidance of your manager to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly tasks
7. Good organization and processing skills
8. Ability to apply policies into practice regarding GDPR, complaints, and information governance
9. Ability to work under pressure and work as a team
Competencies:
1. Good written and verbal communication
2. IT literate (Outlook and MS Office)
3. Ability to stay calm under pressure
4. Excellent team player as well as the ability to work independently
5. Ability to work efficiently with good time management
