The role This is a varied and challenging role for an experienced CNC operator / programmer. You will be carrying out a variety of tasks to ensure the operation and programming of all CNC machines run economically, smoothly and in-line with production programme. You will also be responsible for consumables and machine maintenance. Role Responsibilities Ability to operate, train and maintain the use of CNC plasma profiling machine and drill line. Operate and use FICEP Steel Projects software. Create most efficient nesting of profiles / members to minimise waste, upload programmed nests, lists and export to CNC machines. Managing the distribution and execution of nests for projects in-line with production programme. Liaising with works manager, foreman and other staff for production. Manage, track, order and record the consumables usage for the machine. Ensure operators work to the pre-programmed nests and lists. Track and log works progress and report timing and programme for outputs. Ensure traceability and document control in line with Quality Management System. Liaise with the suppliers for operation issues or faults. Role Requirements Enthusiastic and interested in steelwork. A positive, can-do attitude. Excellent time keeping and attendance record. Ability to read, interpret and understand drawings, including engineers, architects and fabrication. Good communication and organisational skills. Requirements Previous experience in use and managing CNC equipment. Good knowledge and experience operating PCs. Overhead crane, counter balance and multidirectional forklift experience. Knowledge and experience of working to Factory control procedures. Training on our specific software programme will be provided.
