This position reports to:
Service Center Manager-PAPI West Region
Your role and responsibilities:
In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB quality and safety guidelines. Each day, you will deliver quality customer service planning and execute service work as per customer order and expectation. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring customer retention by effectively communicating service work timeline and expectations. The work model for the role is on-site, at the customer location. This role contributes to the Process Automation Process Industries division in Lewiston, ID. You will be mainly accountable for:
1. Working with the customer (while on-site) to identify opportunities to improve the customer's operations and eliminate pain points.
2. Performing field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products for which they are certified to perform.
3. Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.
4. Acting as trainer when needed, for field service associates and customers.
Qualifications for the role:
* Associate's degree in a related field and 2+ years of electrical/electronics, instrumentation or process control related work/military experience required OR HS diploma/GED and 4+ years of related work/military experience required.
* Ability to use electrical test equipment such as voltmeters or multi-meters.
* Mechanical/Electrical aptitude including a basic understanding of electrical theory and electrical safety.
* Ability to read electrical drawings and utilize them for troubleshooting electrical systems.
* Ability to diagnose malfunctioning electrical systems up to 240 VAC/870 VDC and perform preventive maintenance using electrical test equipment.
* Candidate should know how to identify voltage systems that are above the level of 240 VAC/870 VDC.
* Comfortable using basic hand tools.
* Basic understanding of the paper making process and process control is a plus.
* Exposure to DCS programming and troubleshooting is beneficial.
* Travel up to 15% may be required for training and assisting other sites.
* Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
