Job Title Depot Operative Reporting to Depot & Transport Manager Depot Newton Aycliffe, County Durham THE ROLE You will be working in the yard at our Newton Aycliffe Depot carrying out day to day tasks to ensure the depot runs smoothly and is well kept. You will be responsible for the yard, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance so our yard and fleet are safe, compliant, and well organised. A typical week might involve Co-Ordinating the receipt of Deliveries Checking stock levels of key items Constantly keeping the yard area tidy, safe, and free of debris Arranging drop off and collection of waste bins and skips Keeping stock levels correct for sand / ballast Taking delivery and collection of site vehicles Organising materials for specific jobs Quarantining materials Unloading deliveries, labelling up by job and storing away in the correct locations General Housekeeping around the MSF Yards and Welfare buildings Stock taking of materials and allocating quantities to job numbers Prepping materials ready for the site teams to install Driving and operating vehicles in accordance with the general logistic requirements nationwide Refuelling and cleaning vehicles COSHH materials – and ensuring correct storage Standing in for operatives on site when the programmed individual is unavailable Scrap metal runs Hiring and off-hiring plant / equipment when instructed To observe and follow the company H&S policy and Environmental policy whilst carrying out duties As a rapidly growing business, no two days are ever the same so what you do will vary. The nature of our business and the pace we move at also means that priorities do change so you will need to be comfortable with this. About you A full driving licence is essential for the role. Forklift & Class 2 Licence is desirable. Comfortable working outside in a physically demanding role Good at managing time and priorities A good communicator Prepared to positively participate in all training relevant to your role Committed to a high level of health and safety as per company policies/procedures Committed to ensuring all works are completed as per MSF HSEQ policies and procedure and to reporting any HSEQ issues to supervisor and via Eyes and Ears App Why us?
