Your New Role
The Insights, Strategy & Retail Planning team sits at the heart of the UK & Ireland business and our purpose is to convert data, consumer research and market intelligence into concise insights, strategic recommendations & forecasts that provide Warner Bros. Discovery with a competitive advantage. The Senior Insights Analyst will sit within the Networks & Streaming function of the team which plays a central role in decision making across a range of stakeholders from planning, marketing and commissioning to advertising-sales, strategy and finance. As a team, we are responsible for understanding everything we can about our audiences across Entertainment, Sport and streaming, and ensuring that the voice of the consumer is at the heart of all insights and strategic recommendations.
The Senior Insights Analyst will support multiple departments across the business and offers a unique opportunity to work across WBD's entire portfolio of linear, social and streaming brands from Discovery Channel to TNT Sports, and 90 Day Fiancé to The Olympics. While there will be some regular reporting within the role, you will also be able to get stuck in and contribute to a broad range of exciting and varied ad-hoc projects as well as maintain and develop our innovative data visualisation tools. The role will utilise both primary and secondary research techniques and ensure key stakeholders are armed with best-in-class insights upon which to base business decisions. Your Role Accountabilities
* This role will act as support for the Portfolio Senior Insights Manager and will support on ad-hoc requests, performance reviews and smaller insights projects.
* Produce detailed reporting on the performance of WBD’s linear portfolio of Entertainment, Factual & Sport brands as well as our direct-to-consumer services.
* Help measure audience consumption across platforms to develop a holistic picture of viewing across our products/brands.
* Help maintain key reports and data visualisation tools (e.g. PowerBI & Tableau).
* Fully exploit available TV and digital data and blend with other research insights to reveal more about our viewers and their content choices and behaviour.
* Support monthly brand tracking of WBD & competitors, including survey script writing and interpretation of results across channel & service awareness and consumer sentiment.
* Provide the planning and marketing departments with clear, actionable data to help grow WBD’s portfolio of channels.
* Respond to ad-hoc research requests with customised deliverables and recommendations.
Skills and Qualifications
* At least 2-3 years’ experience working in the media industry within a research or insights department – either a media owner or media agency.
* Solid grasp of media metrics across TV and digital platforms and background with working with large data sets.
* A solid understanding of the UK TV & streaming market and challenges it faces.
* Experience with industry analysis tools such as Advantedge/TechEdge, Adobe Analytics, TGI, GWI and Ampere Analysis.
* Good knowledge of Microsoft (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI) software packages.
* Experience of BARB audience data (ideally via AdvantEdge/Techedge tools). Experience with BARB's SVOD and As-Viewed data desirable but not essential.
* Knowledge & experience of TGI/GWI or similar consumer insight tools.
* Prior experience maintaining or developing data visualisation tools (e.g. PowerBI or Tableau).
* Experience using self-serve survey tools (e.g. Toluna, Attest) desirable but not essential.
* Knowledge and experience of sport media desirable but not essential.
* Excellent communication skills – able to produce clear, concise actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
