Your newpany is a large civil engineering and infrastructure contractor that has been awarded a contract for the design and construction of a new bypass of the A284 Lyminster Road contributing to regeneration in the Littlehampton and Bognor Regis areas. We are looking for an experienced Sub / Site Agent to work on this £25M Highways project contracted to the County Council. As well as a new road, a new viaduct will be constructed and associated works to connect with the flood plain to ensure that there is no increase in flood risk plus a cycle path and equestrian access.
Your new role is as an experienced Sub Agent or Site Agent in our Southern Region. You will be managing civil engineering projects for highways and structural works on West Sussex and Hampshire civil engineering frameworks. Management of site staff operatives and subcontractors. Preparing and monitoring programmes for work. Provide method statements, hazard risk assessments and project management plans. Understand tender allowances and monitor contract costs against agreed budgets. Manage design co-ordination. Assessment and engagement of subcontractors. Understand and administer contract changes. Inform, consult, and involve local groups as necessary. Foster good relations and reputation with clients. Promote and ensure all workplies with safety, quality and environmental policies and the requirements of thepany procedures.
What you'll need to succeed. Ideally, you will be based around West Sussex/ Surrey/ Hampshire. You will be experienced in the UK as a Sub Agent or a Site Agent with a UK main contractor. You will have a relevant industry UK qualification (HND/ HNC/ or equivalent, an SMSTS qualification, and an appropriate CSCS card. A First Aid at Work qualification is desirable. You will also have UK experience of managing civil engineering projects with a main contractor, including highway works, earthworks and structures. Experienced in people management and motivation of staff. A good organiser, both yourself and others with the ability to think in advance. Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK and be based locally. Due to the nature of the role, a full UK driving licence is essential, and the successful candidate will be happy to travel throughout the Southern Region. A First Aid at Work qualification would also be desirable. Overseas candidates need not apply and sponsorship is not offered.
