The service's main purpose is the conveyance by accessible buses of adults or children with learning or physical difficulties to day centres or schools and then returning them home.

About the Job
The Transport Passenger Assistant role involves the following:
We require 2 Passenger Assistants to join our operations team based at Central Depot in Hornchurch.
Passenger Assistants will be assigned to routes with the main objective of safely conveying children and adults with disabilities onto our buses, securing them safely (fitting of seat belts/harnesses) or securing wheelchairs in place before the assigned bus commences its route.
Passenger Assistants are required to monitor our passengers on our buses and liaise with the driver, clients, and transport operations regarding any delays or incidents.
Passenger Assistants may also be assigned to ad-hoc work, which can include out-of-borough trips.
This is a 15-hour per week term-time only contract on a split shift, Monday to Friday.
About You
* Experience of working with vulnerable clients (adults and children).
* Experience of working in a challenging environment.
* Ability to maintain safe performance standards and be part of a large team.
* Must be able to communicate clearly across the company, its clients, and its customers.
* Good clear writing skills.
* Must demonstrate a caring approach with a good understanding of vulnerable clients and their needs.
* Practical, efficient, and able to prioritize workload in a busy working environment.
* Enthusiastic about joining a dynamic local authority and proactive in identifying opportunities to improve quality and productivity.
* Flexible approach to working hours, including overtime.
Desirable: Evidence of any training courses attended (e.g., First Aid, Safeguarding Vulnerable Clients, Challenging Behaviour, Sign Language, etc.).
