An exciting opportunity has arisen with my client, based in Wolverhampton.
Reporting to the Fabrication Team Lead, you will be responsible for the polishing of stainless steel metallic parts. This as the role titles says is a polisher role, we're not looking for a fettler. You must incorporate various polishing methods hand/machine systems. You must be able to produce accurately polished components, working to drawings and specifications with a minimum of supervision.
This is a double days shift based role:
EARLIES: 06:00 TILL 14.30 MON TO THURSDAY, 06:00 TILL 11:00 ON A FRIDAY
LATES: 14:00 TILL 22:00 MONDAY TO THURSDAY, 10:30 TILL 18:00 ON A FRIDAY
In terms of daily duties you must be able to:
•Plan the setting up and holding of your own work.
•Produce accurate polishing of parts in relation to cost and quality requirements stated in the work instructions.
•Work to certain polishing standards as per drawings and check own work during production.
•Maintain accurate records for all work to satisfy company standards and procedures.
•Selection of appropriate methods to polish metallic parts to a certain standard, implementing new ideas and methods from previous experiences.
•Flexibility between Fabrication and Machining, understanding that the role is not restricted and may require assistance in other areas of the business.
•A willingness to be flexible for business requirements including overtime and weekend work on occasions.
•Maintain and ensure equipment is safe, clean and in good working order.
•Ensure work areas are kept clean and tidy, always adhering to Health and Safety procedures and policies.
•Can demonstrate a passion and pride in their work and working area

Qualifications Required
•Apprentice trained and have a good understanding of manufacturing protocols including OEE and 5S. You will have a working knowledge of Metal Polishing/Finishing/and De-burring with personal motivation.
•Candidate must be able to polish materials to a ‘Brush’ standard – and have experience with other finishes including Mirror etc.
•Be proficient in using hand tools to complete all metal finishing on a various Stainless Steel, Steels, and exotic metal products.
•Be familiar and competent with all aspects of metal polishing including buffing, graining – also flexibility and knowledge of machined parts de-burring
•Use hand and pneumatic tools to carry out daily tasks.
•Be able to read engineering drawings, understand tolerances, finishes and processes with various materials, including stainless steel, carbon steel and alloys
