Phoenix Motorcycle Training Ltd is the largest motorcycle training school in the UK. We have 22 sites throughout the country and are committed to providing the highest standards of motorcycle training.
We are now looking for full and part-time instructors in our busy Canterbury location to start training with us as soon as possible, with a view to being signed off to start delivering training on your own shortly after training. Full training will be given, including a Level 3 Award in Education and Training.
The Role
You will be working with a variety of customers from differing backgrounds and levels of experience. Training will take place in all weathers, only being canceled when the safety of students or instructors is at risk. You will need to be able to rise to the challenge of teaching new riders who are struggling with the basics of control, to fine-tuning the skills of experienced riders renewing their CBT or returning to riding after a period of absence.
We provide all motorcycles, fuel, and equipment for students, but the instructor will need to provide their own motorbike.
Ideal Candidate
You will be passionate about motorcycling and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You need to be someone who enjoys teaching at all levels and gains satisfaction from seeing others succeed. Previous experience of training or working in a customer-focused environment is a definite advantage. Some knowledge of motorcycle maintenance would also be an advantage.
Essential
Full clean motorcycle license required, held for 3 years, and you must be of good character.
You must be articulate, have a positive attitude, and have a commitment to delivering the best training. A DBS check will need to be carried out. A flexible approach to our students' needs is a crucial requirement.
Benefits
You will receive the backup and full support of a dedicated call center and a national organization. This position will be self-employed, and rates vary depending on courses delivered. The OTE of £35,000 to £40,000 is achievable for a 5/6-day week, including at least 1 day on the weekends when fully qualified.
Training will be provided free of charge, subject to contract, and earnings will commence in full once qualified. Remote learning via our eLearning platform will be required prior to our attendance at the national training center in Sidcup, South East London. During your onsite training, we will also pay an allowance of £100 for up to 10 days while training, payable once you have reached the required down-trained standard as required by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency. You may also be required to travel to one of our other centers during your first 3 months to gain experience before working at your preferred location. Full details of this will be explained to you during the interview process.
The onsite training element will be completed at our national training center. Accommodation will be provided while you are in training. You will need to commit to working for us for 2 years. Conditions apply and will be explained at the interview.
