All areas of Facilities Management support the safety, security and assets of people and assets. The Motor Services Team particularly focuses on the safety and security of the official, working with customers, including Ministers on official business throughout Scotland.
The Delivery (Fleet) Chauffeurs are the face of Scottish Government and responsible for operational service delivery. They participate in the safety and security culture across the service.
Responsibilities
1. Ability to work on a fixed work pattern with a flexible approach to duties is required as you may be required to carry out overtime when the schedule dictates and on occasion stay away from home to provide cover.
2. Deliver an effective service, representing the face of Scottish Government, dealing with queries and requests in a timely and appropriate manner whilst out with customers.
3. Understand and comply with statutory, regulatory and professional requirements.
4. Forward planning of journeys is essential to ensure official vehicle arrives on time for collections and customers are transported in a safe and comfortable manner. This will require an excellent knowledge of the Scottish road network.
5. Take responsibility for your allocated vehicle, maintaining it in a clean and roadworthy condition. This will include undertaking daily vehicle inspections and ensuring that any faults are reported to the fleet managers immediately.
6. You will be responsible for accurately completing vehicle log sheets and job sheets. You will also assist in transporting vehicles to and from suppliers for service and repairs.
7. Build customer relationships, including communicating and influencing key stakeholders.
8. Provide a professional secure chauffeuring service to all our customers, this includes providing support to your customers by taking messages and responding in the appropriate manner, offering travel advice, sharing knowledge with your customers and colleagues, and assisting with luggage.
9. Participate in a programme of change management to improve standards and develop a culture of continuous improvement. Take responsibility for your own continual professional development.
