Conference Manager Annual Salary: £35,000-£40,000 Location: Middlesex Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Currently partnered with a leading events company who specialise in organising medical, scientific, research, and academic events, as well as managing associations and societies. We are seeking a Conference Manager to provide a full event management service to our diverse clients, managing in-person, virtual, and hybrid events. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Manage the overall delivery of in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, ensuring all activities are delivered on time and within budget. Liaise with clients to ascertain their precise event requirements, producing detailed timelines and production plans. Regularly report to clients on the progress of each project. Prepare and manage budgets in collaboration with the finance team. Oversee and manage a conference administrator responsible for delegate registrations and the abstract submission process. Work closely with Conference Programme Committees to prepare individual conference programmes. Source, contract, and manage venues and accommodation for conferences and social networking events. Coordinate all suppliers and contractors, ensuring compliance with insurance, legal, and health and safety obligations. Brief the design team on website requirements and manage website content. Create event branding and organize the production of digital and print collateral. Manage marketing plans to promote events through various media. Sell sponsorship, exhibition space, and manage relationships with exhibitors and partners. Provide secretariat services for conference committees, including agendas and minutes. Coordinate staffing requirements and conduct staff briefings. Oversee event setup, on-site management, and breakdown. Prepare post-event reports and evaluations. Required Skills & Qualifications: Degree in events management, business administration, marketing, leisure and tourism management, or relevant field. Minimum of three years of experience in a similar role. Proven experience in budgeting and financial management. Ability to manage a small team, including temporary event staff. Strong organizational, time management, and delegation skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Commercial awareness and customer-focused approach. Innovative and creative mindset to distinguish events from the competition. Knowledge of sales, marketing, or copywriting. Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
