Key responsibilities: Provide support and maintenance for both on-premises and cloud-based Microsoft Server and Desktop environments. Install authorised software on servers, desktops, and laptops, including antivirus software installation and management. Employ effective questioning techniques to conduct thorough and insightful troubleshooting sessions. Document the steps taken to replicate issues and bugs, maintaining comprehensive case notes. Utilise strong customer service skills to guide cases to resolution, escalating to third-line support as needed. Diagnose and resolve hardware-related technical issues remotely. Ensure that security software and operating system updates/upgrades are applied to relevant hardware. About the Role: As a skilled 2nd Line Support Engineer, you'll be part of a dedicated helpdesk team. Your main responsibilities will include managing support tickets and escalating issues when necessary. You’ll be expected to complete tasks promptly and communicate effectively with clients, keeping senior management updated on progress. This position is primarily office-based, but you may need to visit client sites for hardware installations, site visits, or emergency callouts. About You: The ideal candidate for the 2nd Line Support Engineer position will be proactive, customer-oriented, and approachable. You should have at least three years of experience in a similar role. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for IT are crucial. Key qualifications include a solid technical background with experience in supporting small to medium enterprises. Proficiency in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, Entra ID & Intune, Windows Server and Desktop operating systems, virtualisation, and familiarity with ticketing & RMM systems are essential. A full driving license and access to your own vehicle are required, with mileage reimbursement provided. Why join them?
