We are Thera Trust, formally known as Ansar Projects, and we provide a vital service to young adults with Learning Disabilities in and around Bury. We take exceptional pride in supporting people to remain independent, living at home or within supported living accommodations in their local hometowns and communities.
Thera is a charitable group of companies, supporting people with a learning disability with a diverse range of needs. Thera's vision is that people with a learning disability can be leaders in society.
Requirements
Ideally, you drive and have a car, but if not, you will be happy to use public transport or join a family in their car. We want to hire more exceptional care and support workers to join our growing team. We need you to have a sense of fun and a zest for life, with a purpose driven by kindness and caring about others, willing all people to be their best selves.
You should have great communication skills in speaking, listening, writing, and a bit of digital savviness too. You'll be a good decision maker and support others to make the right decisions, working alone or as part of a team.
Ideally, you will have experience in our sector and be qualified to a Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or have 2 years solid experience), but if not, we will support you to achieve this. A basic level of English and Math is also required. More importantly, you will have learned transferable skills and have the right compassion and commitment to excel in your new role with us. Being a Care and Support worker will be as challenging as rewarding. We believe the people we support are always at the center of every decision, so we ensure our team can really consider the support they offer. This can range from daily personal care and day-to-day chores to social trips out shopping, crafting, and to the cinema. It's rarely always the same; it's what makes this job so enjoyable.
Benefits
We have full-time shifts at 39 hours per week and ask that you can work alternate weekends. We also have 20-hour part-time shift rotas available to everyone, which could also suit students willing to work alternate (or even only weekends).
Pay is £12 per hour, with scope for additional hours if requested. We offer a bundle of benefits that include:
* 20 days + 8 days bank paid holiday
* Employee support line to support you and your family
* Blue Light Card registration, a nationwide discount card scheme available to those working in the NHS, emergency services, armed forces, and social care
* Staff recognition awards for innovation and long service
* Continuous on-the-job training
