About The Role Morrison Energy Services is recruiting for a HV Electrical Designer/Manager to work on our national EV framework Contracts. As the HV Electrical Designer/Manager you will be part of our Net Zero (EV) teamwho are responsiblefor the design and installation of rapid and ultra rapid EV chargers and associated electrical infrastructure including sub-stations across the UK for charge point operators. As the HV Electrical Designer / Manageryour responsibilities will include: The HV Electrical Designer / Manager is responsible for designing and developing high and low voltage electrical distribution systems connected to a low voltage electrical system of EV chargers. This job requires technical knowledge of electrical engineering and a deep understanding of high and low voltage electrical systems. It will involve working up designs independently or managing 3rd party or directly employed electrical designers Ensure successful delivery of design and technical solutions to meet customer expectations Conduct or manage site visits to assess the feasibility of projects and identify potential issues related to high and low voltage systems Review project requirements and specifications and ensure designs meet standards and regulations Create technical drawings and specifications for high and low voltage systems Liaison with Civils designers where necessary Manage and track a pipeline of designs through to pricing / construction Ensure instructed projects are tracked against key milestones through to construction to facilitate accurate forecasting of work and resources Ensure that timely actions are taken to protect MES contractually / commercially for any delays in the design process Maximise revenue and profit from the customer contract through identifying opportunities for cost savings and/or additional chargeable activities Build and maintain constructive and open relationships with customers in line with the MGS core value of delivering what we promise Our strategy is to identify and partner with a few strategic customers, and then grow our portfolio of work with them including ICP connections where required as they progress in this exciting and fast-moving sector. As such, the HV Electrical Designer / Manager will act as a focal point for our strategic customers and our commercial team in developing a sustainable and robust pipeline of work. Skills & Knowledge Requirements Essential Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field Adeep understanding of the electricity industry, including trends, competitors, and market conditions Ability to manage and track multiple projects concurrently Effectively communicate (verbal and written) and collaborate with customers, team members, and other stakeholders Ability to listen to customer needs, being responsive to their concerns, and providing exceptional service Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with other designers, engineers, and project managers on project requirements and specifications Strong technical and analytical skills to support the construction and commissioning teams during project implementation Robust skills in preparing detailed drawings, specifications, and bills of materials to assist the commercial department in the pricing of electrical work Robust skills in Microsoft office software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint Full Driving Licence Meticulous attention to detail Desirable Minimum of five years experience in analysing end user electrical load requirements and designing and developing appropriate systems and components / materials to meet the required standards of the DNO & IDNOs Minimum of five years experience working for or with organisations involved in the construction of HV & LV electrical distribution networks Knowledge, previous experience of electrical safety regulations and best practises Strong knowledge of a relevant DNOs (e.g. Electricity North West) codes of practise and industry standards Knowledge of the CDM Regulations in relation to the role of the Designer Knowledge of calculating, validating and negotiating asset values for HV & LV electrical assets Experience in the wayleave and easement process Ideally be a member of the IET Minimum of five years experience working for or with organisations involved in the installation of DC EV chargers An understanding of the Electrical Vehicle (EV) infrastructure industry, including trends, suppliers, and market conditions Experience in managing a pipeline of designs for multiple customers Experience in using project management software Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other design tools Whats in it for you? 25 days' annual leave plus 8 days' bank holiday Annual bonus Pension scheme Life Assurance Private health care Company car/ car allowance and fuel card About The Company M Group Services delivers a range of essential infrastructure services within the water, energy, transport and telecommunications sectors in the UK & Ireland.
