About the Role
Our client, a highly regarded law firm, is looking to appoint a Vehicle Hire Supervisor to join their specialist team in Birmingham. The team provides expert legal services to insurers and self-insured corporates, handling defendant credit hire claims from small track to multi-track, including fraudulent claims.
As a Supervisor, the role involves managing a team of credit hire handlers, ensuring high-quality service delivery while also handling a small caseload of credit hire claims. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a leadership role within a forward-thinking team that is known for its strategic and market-leading approach to credit hire litigation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and supervise a team of handlers dealing with litigated credit hire claims.
* Provide technical supervision, ensuring claims are managed effectively and in line with client expectations.
* Conduct performance reviews, probation reviews, and manage team well-being.
* Ensure financial performance targets are met while delivering a high standard of legal service.
* Act as a key point of contact for clients and assist with business development activities.
* Handle a small caseload of pre-litigated and litigated credit hire claims.
* Support the professional development of team members through coaching and mentoring.
* Monitor and analyse market trends to support insurers with strategic advice.
What We’re Looking For:
* Previous experience in a supervisory role within a motor claims, credit hire, or defendant litigation environment.
* Strong knowledge of credit hire, personal injury, or related case types, ideally a minimum of 3 years.
* Excellent people management skills, including the ability to coach, mentor, and motivate a team.
* Ability to meet financial targets, ensure compliance with client SLAs, and manage case progression effectively.
* Strong analytical skills and commercial awareness.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* IT literate with good working knowledge of Word and Excel.
