Overview Responsible for overseeing the integration of the power unit into the power module, ensuring compatibility with all related systems (e.g., Electric motor coupling, cooling, lubrication controls, electrical ). This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, managing technical requirements, and ensuring that engine integration meets performance, safety, regulatory, and quality standards. The Principal/Senior Engineer will work closely with design, testing, validation, and manufacturing teams to drive the successful deployment of power unit technologies. Role Responsibilities Engine Integration Management: Lead the integration of the power unit into the power module, ensuring compatibility with all related systems (e.g., Electric motor coupling, cooling, lubrication, controls, electrical). Lead on power unit Systems Engineering requirements, subsystem breakdown, internal interface management Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets in conjunction with the Project management team regarding power unit integration activities. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including design, validation, manufacturing, and quality, to ensure seamless integration. Technical Leadership and Coordination: Serve as the technical point of contact for power unit integration, providing expertise on power unit systems, calibration, and control strategies. Collaborate with power unit development teams to define integration requirements and specifications. Oversee the design and validation of power unit mounts, cooling and lubrication systems and other components involved in power unit integration. Testing and Validation: Develop and execute comprehensive testing and validation plans for power unit integration, including dynamometer testing, power module testing, and durability assessments. Monitor and analyze test data to ensure compliance with performance, safety, and regulatory standards. Identify and resolve integration issues, working closely with design and testing teams to implement solutions. Continuous Improvement and Optimisation: Identify opportunities for improving power unit integration processes, tools, and methods to enhance efficiency, performance, and quality. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to optimize power unit integration and power module performance. Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts for any integration-related issues that arise during development or production. Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all power unit integration activities comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines ie ASME and input from the notified body Work with regulatory teams to develop and submit necessary documentation and certifications for power unit integration. Stay current with evolving regulations and standards related to safety standards Team Leadership and Mentorship: Guide and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
