Job summary Special Needs School Nurse Division: Women, Children and Young People Care Group: Children and Young People Band: 6 Salary: £37,338 - £44,962 per annum/pro rata To work as part of The Special School Nursing Team to assess the healthcare needs of children and young people with additional healthcare needs and learning disabilities. The post holder will be a deputy to the lead nurse and act as a role model for the junior team members in the delivery of a high standard of nursing care. Overseeing and delivering care to children and young people in specialist pre-school and school provisions. Training staff in school to meet the healthcare needs of children and young people. Participating in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the child/young persons care. Delivering therapeutic interventions to pre-school children who have learning disabilities, physical disabilities and additional health care needs. Main duties of the job Provide strong clinical leadership skills, supporting energising, inspiring and empowering others in pursuit of a shared vision to ensure the effective management of the community learning disabilities. To assist and support the lead nurse in the establishment of an efficient working environment, making the most effective and efficient use of staff, supplies and services.
